📋 Description

• Perform patient registration and/or scheduling duties depending on setting • Greet patients/residents and verify demographics for accurate registration and scheduling • Create electronic files and provide, scan, and route necessary forms and documents • Educate patients/residents and capture signatures on necessary paperwork • Establish financial responsibility and assist with payment arrangements • Collect co-payments, pre-payments, and account balance payments • Address and resolve registration work queue issues, denied insurance claims, and registration database maintenance • Schedule patient/resident appointments and procedures • Obtain and coordinate referrals and conduct pre-authorization • Arrange interpreter services and check patients/residents in and out • Collaborate with nursing teams and providers to coordinate appointments • Coordinate provider schedules and manage recalls and waitlists • Operate multi-line telephones and, depending on location, serve as a switchboard operator • Perform additional duties including chart preparation, financial assistance coordination, billing, reporting, reminder calls, admissions, faxing, and supply ordering • Mentor new Patient Access Representatives and other staff • Maintain confidentiality and promote a professional, respectful, cooperative atmosphere

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred • Post-secondary education helpful • One year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting • Medical terminology helpful • Customer service skills essential • Six months of customer service experience desired • May require BLS for certain locations and/or settings • Ability to work as part of a team and independently • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information • Excellent customer service and ability to empathize with patients and their situations • Working knowledge of medical terminology • Professional written communication skills when making notes
