📋 Description

• Implement and sustain the organization’s Health and Safety management programs • Direct health and safety activities for assigned plants and locations to ensure regulatory compliance and protect human health and the environment • Provide direction to plant Health & Safety teams and assist with plant-specific policies, procedures, programs and training • Implement divisional Health & Safety programs and directives across assigned plants and facilities • Provide technical and high-level Health & Safety training • Maintain working knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety regulations • Develop Health & Safety champions in plants and drive accountability into supervisory levels • Conduct audits and inspections of plant and warehousing activities and train others to conduct them • Inform plant management of potential violations and support resolutions • Assist with Peer-to-Peer audits • Review plant incident reports, conduct investigations and take appropriate action • Provide plant-level support during agency inspections • Assess costs from safety incidents and report to management • Provide safety guidance to operations, engineering and other departments on plant projects • Support Environmental, Refrigeration Services and Risk Management initiatives • Provide leadership in all areas of Health & Safety • Perform additional project and program management duties as required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in safety management, environmental or chemical engineering, industrial hygiene, industrial risk, management or a related field or equivalent experience • Minimum 5 years of health and safety experience in a manufacturing environment • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations is required • Strong customer orientation; ability to develop relationships and influence managers at all levels internally and externally (Regulators) • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills and strong and positive leadership presence • Ability to persist in sustaining initiatives past project completion dates • Strong sense of urgency in solving problems and getting the work done • Ability to train and motivate others to champion Health & Safety success • Business knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) • Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and analytical skills • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management, prioritization and organizational skills • Must be a self-starter • Ability to conceptualize and lead change initiatives • Ability to travel frequently (up to 60%)
