• Work in a project team environment with engineers and designers on new and existing nuclear power plant electrical systems • Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve electrical engineering issues • Prepare and review engineering design change packages for plant equipment installation, replacement, or upgrades • Prepare and review engineering calculations including AC/DC power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting, and protective relay settings • Prepare and review equipment procurement specifications • Participate in bid review evaluations for equipment vendors • Respond to vendor questions and track questions/responses • Prepare and review conceptual design scoping documents and constructability reviews • Interface with Mechanical, Structural, Civil, and I&C engineering and design disciplines • Interface with clients and support project implementation personnel • Review vendor documents and provide written comments • Attend client meetings and site field walkdowns • Travel to client and vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews, construction coordination, and field verification • Support site installation activities during project implementation • Assist the project manager in completing projects on time and within budget • Convey scope of work to project team members and define deliverables • Review status and track team-member progress • Conduct routine status meetings and submit progress reports • Track and resolve open items and emergent project issues • Coordinate completion of project deliverables • Lead automation and process-improvement work where applicable, ensuring AI-generated results are checked
• An electrical engineering degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program • 5 or more years experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment for industrial applications, with a focus on design for existing nuclear power plants • Experience in the selection of equipment and materials • Experience preparing and assembling engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications • Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution systems, transformers, generators, motors, and relays • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Detail-oriented approach to work • Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear power station • PE license, valued but not required • MSEE, valued but not required • Willingness or ability to lead others using modern tools such as automation and AI • Ability to oversee engineers programming or scripting in Python, MATLAB, or advanced Excel, valued but not required • Additional learning in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields, valued but not required • Work authorization sponsorship is not provided for this position
