📋 Description

• Work in a project team environment with engineers and designers on new and existing nuclear power plant electrical systems • Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve electrical engineering issues • Prepare and review engineering design change packages for installing, replacing, or upgrading plant equipment • Prepare and review AC/DC power studies, short-circuit, cable ampacity, voltage-drop, breaker-coordination, motor-starting, and protective-relay calculations • Prepare and review equipment procurement specifications • Participate in vendor bid evaluations and manage vendor questions and responses • Prepare and review conceptual-design scoping documents, including constructability reviews • Interface with Mechanical, Structural, Civil, and I&C engineering and design disciplines • Interface with clients, vendors, and implementing personnel • Review vendor documents and provide written comments • Attend client meetings and site field walkdowns • Travel to client and vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews, construction coordination, and field verification • Support site installation activities during project implementation • Assist the project manager in completing projects on time and within budget • Define scope, deliverables, status tracking, progress reporting, and project issue resolution • Coordinate completion of project deliverables

🎯 Requirements

• Electrical engineering degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program • 7 or more years of experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment for industrial applications, focused on power plant design • Experience selecting equipment and materials and preparing and assembling engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications • Experience with electrical system design, including low- and medium-voltage distribution systems, transformers, generators, motors, relays, and related equipment • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Detail-oriented approach to work • Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear power station • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; the employer does not sponsor work authorization • Experience with AI, automation, programming, or similar technologies is valued but not required • PE license valued but not required • MSEE valued but not required
