📋 Description

• Accurately examine and evaluate medical records and health information for accuracy in hospital outpatient and physician coding • Perform ambulatory surgery, emergency room, other hospital outpatient visits, and evaluation/management coding audits for technical and/or professional reporting • Provide educational services to clients/coders based on audit results • Analyze audit results to identify patterns, trends, and problematic areas • Communicate opportunities for coder improvement initiatives • Use a desktop computer in a virtual, Windows-based office environment • Use coding books, procedure manuals, and online encoders as resources • Maintain patient and physician confidentiality and follow federal, state, and hospital release-of-information guidelines • Maintain current working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles, government regulations, and protocols • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and conference calls as requested

🎯 Requirements

• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS/P or CPC • 3+ years’ experience including inpatient and/or outpatient and/or professional fee coding skills as well as ambulatory surgery, APC, emergency room, evaluation and management, auditing, required • Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and/or CPT-4 codes • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work independently • Computer knowledge of MS Office • Must display excellent interpersonal skills • Must have strong communication and writing skills
