📋 Description

• Lead and develop conceptual utility-scale PV and BESS system designs, including site layouts using PVcase and single-line concepts • Review client datarooms, RFP requirements, and site constraints to establish design criteria and identify risks, assumptions, and optimization opportunities • Evaluate and iterate design scenarios to optimize cost, schedule, energy yield, and constructability • Develop material takeoffs, equipment selections, and technical inputs for EPC estimates • Coordinate with civil, structural, electrical, procurement, construction, estimating, detailed engineering, and field operations teams • Engage OEMs, subcontractors, and vendors for technical evaluations and pricing • Develop Basis of Design documentation for handoff to detailed engineering • Communicate design intent, tradeoffs, risks, opportunities, and value engineering recommendations to stakeholders, clients, and external partners • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, codes, and best practices • Report to the Director, Preconstruction Design

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or related discipline from an accredited university • 3+ years of experience in solar EPC, developer, or engineering firm • 2+ years of direct experience in planning, design, and engineering of utility scale PV and/or BESS systems • Familiarity with interconnection, site constraints, and permitting considerations • Understanding of construction methods and cost drivers in utility-scale solar • Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance technical and financial drivers • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD design tools • Hands-on experience with PV and BESS system design and layout development using PVcase • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills • Preferably experience with SharePoint, PVcase, Pvsyst, and Procore • Candidates from civil, structural, or electrical engineering backgrounds with utility-scale PV experience are encouraged to apply • Must comply with interview policy prohibiting AI note-takers, recording devices, and real-time transcription software • Must be eligible for employment in the United States; employer uses E-Verify
