📋 Description

• Provide leadership, expertise, and delegation for construction document deliverables for BAS, EPMS, and software integration design projects • Serve as client program lead, project trade lead, and subject matter expert for BAS and EPMS scopes • Develop client standards, basis of design, feasibility studies, and building automation roadmaps • Lead integration designs for DDC- and PLC-based BAS and EPMS systems • Design controls network/system architecture, including IT/OT requirements • Select instrumentation, sensors, actuators, valves, and other field devices • Coordinate with equipment, system, and product vendors on building automation interface requirements • Create and review project books, sheet specifications, sequences of operations, system diagrams, and point/alarm lists • Collaborate with client IT departments on network design, interface details, and security requirements • Direct engineering production activities with internal and external Revit/BIM resources • Lead BAS construction document submittal packages and construction-support activities • Lead BAS-focused design reviews and page turns • Participate in quality-control and peer reviews • Lead internal and external project meetings on engineering scope • Manage project communications, reporting, and personal hours • Prepare progress reports for internal and external stakeholders • Manage team objectives, departmental projects, employee questions, performance evaluations, and 1:1 meetings • Direct, coach, mentor, and develop team members • Resolve team conflicts and foster collaboration • Manage resources, task assignments, and prioritization • Assist with team hiring and recruiting • Complete assigned tasks and deliverables on time and on budget • Perform other related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related discipline OR six years of experience with hands-on installation, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of controls infrastructure • Minimum eight years of additional experience with BAS and EPMS design • At least half of the experience should be with hyperscale or colocation data center projects or other critical infrastructure markets • Advanced skill navigating clients through BAS project designs, including standards, needs, and option evaluation • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams • Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD • Skilled in designing BAS and EPMS packages • Knowledge of construction design processes, stakeholders, and deliverables • Knowledge of code requirements and energy guidelines related to BAS designs • Knowledge of data center HVAC applications and BAS control strategies, including chilled water plants • Knowledge of IoT and smart building solutions • Knowledge of networking, including addressing, VLANs, LANs, switches, and routers • Knowledge of OT protocols: BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, and MQTT • Knowledge of DDC systems used in building automation designs • Knowledge of PLC systems used in building automation designs • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence • Effective oral and written communication of technical and non-technical information • Ability to communicate directly with clients and serve as primary client contact when needed • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with moderate supervision • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines • Ability to plan and delegate others’ work • Ability to mentor and train junior engineers • Ability to travel up to 20% to any or all 50 U.S. states • Valid REAL ID or acceptable alternative, such as a passport, for business air travel after May 7, 2025
