• Manage operational oversight of multiple Sound Physicians hospitalist practices in Washington • Establish relationships with hospitalist teams, hospital and system C-suite executives, case management, nursing, medical staff offices, community providers, and specialty physicians • Manage direct reports supporting day-to-day hospitalist practice operations • Lead content discussions and preparations for Joint Operations Committee and Quarterly Performance Reviews • Review and approve client-facing scorecards, dashboards, and action plans • Lead strategic discussions with hospital partners and communicate Sound’s solutions • Build C-suite relationships and report on performance monthly • Meet with Medical Directors and PMT members to review site performance and identify opportunities and barriers • Oversee payroll, credentialing, human resources, recruiting, and other practice operations • Participate in Monthly Operating Reviews and analyze practice financial statements, trends, and variances • Develop and manage annual budgets with responsibility for regional program P&L performance • Gather and process monthly patient-level data files and troubleshoot issues • Pursue new business and coordinate efforts with Business Development, COO, and RCMOs • Complete due diligence and practice design for new hospital practices • Create or review proposals, financial proformas, contract negotiations, and new site implementations • Lead new practice implementations • Hire, train, and develop a regional practice management team • Track reconciliation dates, PQI submissions, contract renewals, and annual escalator anniversaries • Escalate issues and concerns to the COO • Support clinical performance leaders and nurses in developing and executing clinical processes
• Bachelor's Degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or similar field • 6–8 years' experience working with healthcare operational management • Experience with financial statements • Working knowledge of hospital and healthcare informatics, including quality measures • 3–4 years' experience managing a multi-site physician group practice preferred • Experience working in a matrixed environment • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint • Knowledge of MS Project • Knowledge of Process Improvement methodology • LEAN-Six Sigma for healthcare training desirable • Knowledge of relevant state and federal healthcare regulations • Working knowledge of healthcare payment models, physician practice management, revenue cycle, payer contracting, managed care models, and Accountable Care Organization structure • Knowledge of the hospital medicine landscape and market forces driving the hospitalist model of care • Understanding of hospitalist physician recruiting, marketing, and compensation issues • Ability to communicate clearly and consistently • Ability to navigate and progress through change • Ability to anticipate needs and make decisions with incomplete or ambiguous information • Executive presence and professionalism • Negotiation skills • Relationship-building and maintenance skills • Strategic thinking and data-driven planning • Teamwork skills • Must reside in California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Wyoming, Missouri, Iowa, or Mississippi
