• Guide, train, and assist Loan Closing Specialists • Prepare loan documents according to credit approval using LaserPro • Close individual loans and manage a personal loan pipeline • Conduct and document CAIVRS, SAM.gov, OFAC, and other mandatory due diligence searches • Perform and perfect UCC searches and filings • Enter loan applications end-to-end in E-Tran accurately and timely • Engage legal counsel and schedule borrower calls • Explain closing processes and outstanding items to borrowers; follow up to obtain required items • Serve as primary contact for borrowers and legal counsel • Prepare files and documents for audits • Train new Loan Closing Specialists and provide ongoing training • Maintain and update the SBA 7(a) Small Loan Closing procedures manual • Provide backup support during staffing shortages or peak workloads • Manage competing priorities to prevent bottlenecks and maintain loan movement • Liaise with the Small Business Administration to support compliance • Review and correct Bank and SBA loan documents before signing • Oversee and provide guidance on loan closing turn-times • Follow bank policies, compliance regulations, and required training • Maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security, and other applicable regulations • Foster SouthState Bank’s corporate culture and serve as a positive example • Perform other duties as assigned
• High School Diploma or GED required • Degree in Business or Finance desirable • Minimum of 5 years SBA experience required • Three or more years of experience in SBA 7a Small Loan Closings preferred • Proficiency and thorough knowledge of SBA-required due diligence platforms (CAIVRS, SAM, Tax Guard, ETRAN) • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and ETRAN required • Knowledge of Navigator Fiserv, LaserPro, DocuSign, and PCFS Loan Manager preferred • Knowledge of SBA’s Standard Operating Procedures • Strong organizational and workflow management skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including group presentation skills • Problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, prioritization, and escalation skills • Ability to work independently • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Must have a secure home office free from background noise and distractions • Must have a reliable private internet connection not supplied by cellular data
