📋 Description

• Model the cost of new projects, programs, and partnerships and build repeatable tools for external-facing budgets • Own financial processes for donor budgets, including templates, guidelines, metrics, and analysis • Collaborate with program and functional teams on financial analysis and future scenarios • Lead financial due diligence responses and maintain donor-facing policies and practices • Forecast quarterly, annual, and long-term revenue and cash flows and model alternative scenarios • Track forecasted revenues, cash flows, and donor restrictions • Execute the annual budget process with global support functions • Provide reporting and analysis for monthly Budget vs Actual and quarterly forecasting processes • Model innovation opportunities and provide budgeting, reporting, and analysis for pilot projects • Support new processes and systems for new workstreams and hand-off of expanding programs • Provide financial support for Social Return on Investment calculations and resource-allocation metrics • Design and build organization-wide financial reporting models • Optimize Netsuite reporting tools and use AI responsibly to improve finance-team efficiency • Prepare financial status and forecast materials for the Executive Committee, Board, and Board Finance Committee • Implement financial processes, reporting, templates, and budgets for new grants and projects • Implement enterprise risk tracking and action registers • Coordinate insurance policies and other risk mitigations • Ensure appropriate funds are available in each region with Country Finance Managers and the Head of Finance • Lead global policies and procedures related to risk management, treasury, and legal • Lead operations dashboards, metrics, and global procedures • Coordinate US financial operations, procurement, and regulatory compliance • Lead strategic Finance and Operations projects and cross-functional initiatives • Report directly to the CFO and collaborate with senior leadership and the fundraising team

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field • 5–10+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting • Experience designing and creating value-added reporting for internal and external stakeholders • Experience implementing financial tools and improving the timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial information • Experience with nonprofit programs, grants finance, and donor budgets highly desirable • Netsuite experience • Google Workspace proficiency • Business intelligence tools proficiency • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills • Strong analytical and judgment skills • Excellent execution skills • Ability to adopt new technology and use AI effectively in day-to-day work • Ability to translate financial concepts for non-financial audiences • Strategic thinking and ability to support organizational growth and change • Solutions-oriented and proactive approach • Detail orientation and ability to create high-level summarized analysis • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-country environment • Commitment to Spark’s mission and values • Willingness to travel to Africa periodically • Availability for US East Coast time schedules and crossover time zones with Africa • MBA or professional accounting certification (CPA or equivalent) desirable, not required
