📋 Description

• Assign accurate diagnostic and procedure codes according to clinical documentation and official coding guidelines for inpatient hospital accounts • Coordinate with clinical documentation and quality teams to validate Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related Group (MSDRG), patient safety indicators, and hospital-acquired conditions through physician documentation • Monitor assigned work queues to ensure records are charged in a timely manner • Generate coding queries to clarify physician documentation as needed • Stay current with coding conventions and coding updates • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience • No experience required • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) - AHIMA, or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) - AAPC, or Certified Professional Coder (CPC®) - AAPC, or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) - AHIMA, or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - AHIMA • State of work location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin • Frequent keyboard use/data entry • Ability to perform the listed physical requirements, including frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs and occasional objects weighing 25-50 lbs • Ability to perform frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements, and use of vision, hearing, and speech • Ability to perform occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping; rare climbing
