St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - ALSAC is a not-for-profit pediatric research hospital and its fundraising arm (ALSAC) focused on understanding, treating, and defeating childhood cancer and other life-threatening pediatric diseases. St. Jude provides clinical care (with a stated policy that families never receive a bill), conducts basic and clinical research, runs clinical trials and global research initiatives, trains clinicians and researchers, and operates extensive fundraising, donor services, events, and awareness programs to support its mission. The organization is a 501(c)(3) charity with public donation, volunteering, and fundraising activities.

📋 Description

• Strategically build, cultivate, steward, solicit, and manage a portfolio of planned giving donors and prospects across digital platforms • Qualify new donors to support planned giving pipeline and revenue growth from planned and outright gifts • Develop long-term relationships with high-value donors, high-wealth prospects, and high-value volunteers • Create individualized engagement and fundraising strategies, including solicitation opportunities • Manage a digital portfolio of 500–1000 donor prospects • Collaborate across the organization to facilitate outright and planned gifts and serve as a bequest and planned giving lead • Cultivate and steward donors through personal and event visits, written correspondence, telephone calls, virtual interactions, and other communications • Develop and implement donor cultivation and solicitation plans using moves management best practices • Present planned giving, tax considerations, and fundraising information to donors • Confirm new Danny Thomas St. Jude Society members through follow-up on leads • Document donor interactions and communications using technological tools, CRM systems, PG Calc, and Crescendo • Plan and execute at least two local in-person Donor Appreciation Luncheons and/or Donor Virtual Gatherings • Host events and coordinate logistics and follow-up with internal and external partners and vendors • Stay current on industry trends, processes, policies, St. Jude's mission, research, and patient care • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, divisions, colleagues, community groups, businesses, and other organizations • Attend or staff regional and national events as requested • Identify key initiatives and oversee assigned-area plans supporting ALSAC's strategic plan and St. Jude fundraising objectives

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in fundraising, planned giving, or major gifts • Bachelor's degree is preferred • Demonstrated success in donor cultivation and relationship management • Strong organizational and time-management skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to travel 50–70% of the time, including evenings and weekends; additional travel for conferences (10–25%) • Experience with bequest and major gift fundraising • Strategic thinker and collaborative team player • Familiarity with planned giving tools and CRM systems • Driver's License is required • Assigned donor portfolio work requires both in-person donor cultivation efforts and strategic stewardship and personalized outreach; Digital role also includes virtual cultivation efforts
