📋 Description

• Oversee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, Pregnancy Worker’s Act, other mandated leave, and company leave • Provide operational oversight of the third-party leave vendor • Administer accommodations programs • Serve as a subject matter expert on leave management consistent with local, state, and federal regulations • Provide guidance on complex employee situations while ensuring compliance and consistent policy application • Manage a high-volume caseload of leave and accommodation matters • Facilitate the interactive process with employees, leaders, healthcare providers, and stakeholders • Partner with the third-party leave administrator to ensure operational excellence, compliance, and a positive employee experience • Build cross-functional partnerships with HR, Safety, Risk, Legal, and external vendors • Implement regulatory changes, policy enhancements, and process improvements • Analyze leave and accommodation data, metrics, and trends and provide actionable recommendations • Resolve complex and sensitive matters through communication, conflict resolution, and influence • Assess program performance and recommend improvements to policies, processes, and service models • Deliver guidance, training, and consultation to leaders and HR partners • Influence stakeholders to drive consistent leave and accommodation practices • Provide strategic consultation, risk assessment, and recommendations related to leave management, accommodations, and employee support programs

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required • Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required • Experience managing a high-volume caseload of complex accommodation and leave matters in a fast-paced environment • Experience partnering with third-party leave vendors • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consultation skills • Ability to navigate sensitive situations and build trust with employees, leaders, vendors, and cross-functional partners • Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills • Strong attention to detail • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality • Proficiency with HRIS, case management, leave management systems, and MS Office applications • Experience supporting a multi-state workforce and navigating varying state and local leave requirements • May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state, and Red Cross system • Union experience is a plus • Knowledge of various state leave laws is a plus • Consultative mindset
