📋 Description

• Provide actuarial leadership and profit management for The Standard’s $4 billion Life, Absence and Disability business • Own pricing, reserving, profitability analysis, actuarial strategy, financial reporting, and planning • Partner with Underwriting and Sales to drive profitable growth, customer retention, and cross-selling • Integrate actuarial insights into business strategies and elevate the Actuarial function as an enterprise strategic partner • Oversee pricing strategies for LAD products and manage the reserving process • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards • Drive risk management with Underwriting and develop reinsurance partnerships • Oversee actuarial and financial reporting and analyze financial and operational performance • Communicate financial results, drivers, and business actions to senior management and key stakeholders • Oversee financial planning and model development • Develop and execute financial strategies supporting growth and profitability objectives • Drive expense management with the Finance team • Partner with Corporate Development to assess M&A and partnership opportunities, develop deal value models, and determine business synergies • Lead and develop the actuarial team • Provide mentorship and coaching and promote professional development • Drive actuarial innovation and best-in-class practices • Translate complex actuarial insights into actionable operational and strategic guidance • Collaborate across departments to execute business actions, achieve performance targets, and enhance competitive advantage • Foster accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration across teams • Advise on growth strategies, M&A, market expansion, product and service delivery, customer experience, and market leadership as a member of the LAD Executive team

• Strategic and innovative mindset with strong business acumen in the Employee Benefits market • Executive judgment and independence • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior management, strategic partners, and the sales force • Ability to anticipate emerging risks and opportunities and proactively create value • Ability to lead through change • Ability to translate complex actuarial insights into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical stakeholders • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments • Actuarial leadership experience across pricing, reserving, profitability analysis, financial reporting, planning, and risk management • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for pricing and reserving • Experience developing financial models and strategies • Experience assessing M&A and partnership opportunities • Experience leading, mentoring, and developing actuarial teams • Employment, education, and licensing verification required • Criminal background investigation required • Must be bondable
