📋 Description

• Manage and grow a portfolio of Tier 2 and Tier 3 accounts while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the assigned territory or market. • Develop and execute territory and customer sales plans aligned with annual sales, volume, gross margin, and growth objectives. • Build long-term relationships across customer purchasing, technical, commercial, and other decision-making stakeholders. • Conduct customer visits and business reviews, advance opportunities through the sales process, and negotiate pricing and commercial terms within established guidelines. • Partner with R&D, Technical Service, Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Operations to address customer needs and coordinate trials, technical programs, and commercial follow-up. • Maintain an active opportunity pipeline, accurate CRM/Salesforce activity, monthly forecasts, and contributions to annual sales planning and budgeting. • Develop knowledge of target markets, technologies, industry trends, and competitive dynamics, and represent Stepan at customer meetings and relevant industry events. • Report to the Regional Sales Manager. • Drive profitable growth across a portfolio of Direct and Distribution customers in the Consumer Products Surfactant sales team.

🎯 Requirements

• 1+ years of relevant sales or commercial experience required; 3+ years preferred, ideally in specialty chemicals or a related B2B industry. • Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships, manage sales activities, and pursue new business opportunities. • Foundational business and financial acumen, including an understanding of pricing, volume, margin, and profitability drivers. • Strong written, verbal, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills. • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business functions. • Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the motivation and initiative to work independently in a remote or field-based environment. • Proficiency with CRM/Salesforce and standard business tools. • Ability and willingness to travel as required. • Bachelor's degree required; a technical or scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is preferred. • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire. • Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
