📋 Description

• Provide internal and external reporting of a portfolio/property’s financial results • Prepare monthly financial statement packages for clients • Create and post journal entries to the general ledger • Maintain fixed asset depreciation and amortization schedules • Review the general ledger and income statement • Perform bank statement and balance sheet reconciliations • Review property manager variance comments • Ensure internal and external reporting deadlines are met • Communicate with property management teams and Property Managers regarding accounting and financial information • Interact with clients on basic or intermediate issues and escalate complex issues to supervisors or managers • Support property budgeting and expense reconciliation preparation through data review • Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports and analyses • Prepare and submit Sales & Use Tax returns, as applicable • Manage and review project/property cash accounts • Ensure timely payment of utilities, taxes, mortgages, and owner distributions • Review and post cash receipts • Review payables and process vendor invoices for payment • Ensure compliance with SOC I requirements • Provide internal and external customer service • Perform other assigned projects and duties

🎯 Requirements

• 2-4 years of related accounting/reporting experience • Analytical and accounting skills commensurate with experience level • Solid understanding of accounting principles • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to listen and ask questions for clarification • Ability to interact with clients and team members • Self-motivation and ability to multitask in a deadline-oriented environment • Ability to take initiative in solving routine/intermediate problems and present possible solutions to a supervisor • Intermediate competence in Microsoft Excel and Outlook • Knowledge of various accounting software • Full-cycle general ledger accounting experience is a plus • Real estate industry experience is a plus • Yardi and/or MRI experience is a plus
