• Lead and coordinate schoolwide community engagement initiatives for students and families • Develop a calendar of in-person outings, virtual events, family activities, and other connection opportunities throughout the school year • Identify creative ways to increase student and family participation in the MGLVA community • Collaborate across grade bands and departments to ensure engagement opportunities are accessible and relevant • Serve as a welcoming point of connection at school-sponsored events and activities • Build relationships with families and gather feedback about their interests, needs, and participation barriers • Support family belonging, connection, satisfaction, and long-term engagement with MGLVA • Promote events and engagement opportunities through school communication channels • Maintain MGLVA's presence on Facebook, Instagram, LC Community, and other approved channels • Capture and share positive stories, activities, celebrations, and experiences highlighting the school community • Partner with school leadership and teams on marketing and school visibility initiatives aligned with community engagement • Encourage staff to identify and share stories showcasing student success and family engagement • Track participation and engagement trends to evaluate initiatives and identify improvements • Champion school culture so students and families experience MGLVA as a connected community
• Must reside in Michigan • Bachelor's degree in education, Counseling, Human Services or related field, and two years of experience working with families in a similar capacity, developing parent mentors/Learning Coaches, and/or facilitating community involvement, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Ability to clear required background check • Familiarity with online learning environment • Strong organization and time management skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio • Web proficiency • Ability to travel 20% of the time • Three years of experience working with families in a similar capacity, developing parent mentors/parent training, and/or facilitating community involvement
