📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning based on students’ individual needs • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools • Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting • Travel as required, averaging once per month or approximately 20% of the time, for professional development, student testing, and school needs

🎯 Requirements

• Alabama Business and/or Computer Science Teaching Certificate • Residency in Alabama; surrounding states may be considered with a valid Alabama Teaching Certificate • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to work the school-defined schedule, typically 9-5 or 8-4 • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in using technology • Experience teaching online/virtual and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platforms • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and use it to drive instructional decisions • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
