📋 Description

• Deliver Criminal Justice career exploration and elective course content for grades 9–12 in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process and focusing on individual student needs • Provide rich synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools under principal and coach guidance • Maintain the grade book, protect academic integrity, make placement and promotion decisions, and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and school needs • Maintain and apply State, National, and Industry Specific learning standards • Develop instructional tools and strategies to supplement the curriculum • Collaborate with the school and national professional learning community • Support a project-based learning model

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree • Active CTE state teaching certification OR active high school grade level state teaching certification with CTE Validation • Must reside in Ohio • Ability to clear required background check(s) • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday, typically 9–5 or 8–4 as defined by the school • Ability to collaborate with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations and use them for instructional decisions • Receptive to regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in using technology • Experience teaching in an online/virtual and/or brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with project-based learning
