📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance focused on students’ individual IEP needs • Manage the learning process and work with students and parents to advance learning • Ensure special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding appropriate therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required special education documentation • Facilitate collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Apply accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify lessons and assessments according to IEP requirements • Support inclusion and student success in general education classrooms • Collect data and work samples to monitor IEP goals and objectives • Document parent contact and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and make placement and promotion decisions • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Maintain positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues

🎯 Requirements

• Florida 5 Year Professional Special Education certificate • Florida Reading and ESOL Endorsements • Florida residency requirement • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and use student data to drive instructional decisions • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school
