📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance focused on students’ individual IEP needs • Manage the learning process and work with students and parents to advance learning • Ensure special education and related services required by the IEP team are provided • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding appropriate therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required state special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Apply accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to IEP requirements • Support student inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals • Document parent contacts and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and support academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting • Travel up to 20% for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Appropriate state Department of Education Elementary School Special Education Teaching Certification required • North Carolina or South Carolina residency preferred; candidates in Georgia, Tennessee, or Virginia may be considered • Bachelor’s degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday • Ability to collaborate with teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations and use them for instructional decisions • Receptive to regular coaching from administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time • Experience with the proposed age group desired • Experience supporting adults and children using technology desired • Online or brick-and-mortar teaching experience desired • Experience with an online learning platform desired
