📋 Description

• Provides rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students • Personalizes learning for all students • Differentiates instruction based on student level of mastery • Augments course content using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from the principal and coach • Maintains the grade book and ensures student academic integrity • Makes student placement and promotion decisions • Alerts administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepares students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families • Communicates with and responds to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Supports learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom • Travels as required for professional development, student testing, and other school functions

🎯 Requirements

• Appropriate state Department of Education Elementary School (K-5) Teaching Certification required • North Carolina or South Carolina residency preferred; candidates residing in surrounding states (GA, TN, VA) may be considered • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology • Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platforms • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and use it to drive instructional decisions • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
