📋 Description

• Serve as teacher of record for self-contained and ALT special education students • Provide instruction, support, and guidance focused on individual IEP needs • Manage learning processes and provide special education services • Monitor progress toward IEP goals and maintain service logs • Create compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required state special education documentation • Participate in annual IEP and collaborative special education meetings • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Analyze student data and prescribe remediation or enrichment • Collect work samples and document student progress, parent contacts, collaborations, and interventions • Implement accommodations and modifications, including assistive technology and accessible text • Support general education teachers and parents with accommodations • Promote inclusion and student success in general education classrooms • Maintain grade books and provide input on placement and promotion decisions • Prepare students for standardized tests • Communicate with families, students, and learning coaches/parents • Support curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting needs • Support in-person student testing • Participate in professional learning communities and data-analysis meetings

🎯 Requirements

• Texas Elementary (EC–6) Teaching Certification • Texas Special Education Teaching Certification • ESL Supplemental Certification, or obtain it by June 1 of the following calendar year • Complete House Bill (HB) 3 Reading Academy or have participated in the 2018–2019 READ Grant • Residency in Texas • Ability to work collaboratively to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to travel up to 20% for in-person testing, professional development, or other school-required travel • Ability to clear required background check • Experience working with self-contained and ALT students in the proposed age group (desired) • Experience supporting adults and children in technology use (desired) • Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment (desired) • Experience with an online learning platform (desired)
