📋 Description

• Promote student success through a comprehensive school counseling program • Guide students in academic success, social and emotional development, and career and college planning • Help students plan postsecondary options, apply academic achievement strategies, and manage emotions and interpersonal skills • Focus students and families on college and career readiness • Meet quarterly with students on the caseload to review graduation plans and postsecondary options • Deliver classroom instruction based on student success standards • Review transcripts and academic documentation • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop four-year graduation plans and audit student schedules • Assist with course placement, including Advanced Placement and pathway recommendations • Analyze student data and develop data-driven intervention action plans • Provide short-term counseling and referrals for long-term support • Support teachers, staff, and parents • Support standardized testing, parent education, and staff development • Advocate for students at individual education plan and other student-focused meetings • Focus students and families on goal setting and academic planning • Travel for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and other school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• North Carolina School Counselor Certification required • Master's degree required • Three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement • School Counselor License • Ability to clear required background check • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based search engines, and database systems • Flexible schedule • Ability to travel as needed • Master’s degree in school counseling • Experience with distance learning • Advanced coursework in counseling and administration • Residents of North Carolina or border states within a 30-mile radius; out-of-state residents must have North Carolina School Counselor certification • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
