📋 Description

• Serve as teacher of record for high school special education students • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process for self-contained and ALT students • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, service logs, and required special education documentation • Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and objectives using data and work samples • Participate in annual IEP meetings, collaborative special education meetings, professional learning communities, and data analysis meetings • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide special education services and support accommodations for students, teachers, and parents • Ensure inclusion and success in general education classrooms • Maintain grade books and provide input on placement and promotion decisions • Prepare students for standardized tests • Communicate with families, students, and learning coaches/parents • Support curricular, instructional, and basic virtual classroom troubleshooting needs • Support in-person student testing

🎯 Requirements

• Texas residency required • Texas Special Education and ESL certification preferred • Experience working with self-contained and ALT students in the proposed age group preferred • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology preferred • Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment preferred • Experience with an online learning platform preferred • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written/verbal communication skills • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time • Ability to clear required background check
