📋 Description

• Deliver specific middle school Science course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Maintain the grade book and make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Augment course content using prescribed synchronous and asynchronous tools under principal and coach guidance • Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and school functions

🎯 Requirements

• Must reside in Michigan • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Michigan Teaching Certification required • Middle school Science certificate required • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office • Ability to work the school’s typical 9–5 or 8–4 schedule • Experience with the proposed age group desired • Experience supporting adults and children with technology desired • Online, virtual, or brick-and-mortar teaching experience desired • Experience with online learning platforms desired • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint desired • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
