📋 Description

• Deliver specific middle school science course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning based on students’ individual needs and levels of mastery • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Augment course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools • Maintain the grade book and ensure student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Maintain positive rapport with families and communicate responsively with students and parents/learning coaches • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and other school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• North Carolina Middle School Science Teaching Certification or Elementary K-6 certification • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Residency in North Carolina or a border state within a 30-mile radius • Out-of-state residents must have a North Carolina teaching certification • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Experience working with the proposed age group (desired) • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology (desired) • Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment (desired) • Experience with online learning platforms (desired) • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data (desired) • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint (desired) • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms (desired) • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum (desired)
