📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Focus on students’ individual needs as defined by each student’s Individualized Education Program • Work actively with students and parents to advance student learning • Ensure special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team • Communicate with parents and related service staff to ensure students receive appropriate therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and state-required special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Use resources to provide accommodations and modifications, including assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to IEP requirements • Ensure student inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals and objectives • Document parent contact and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Maintain positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Arizona Special Education Teaching Certification Required • Arizona Fingerprint Card • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Residency in one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C. • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data and use it to drive instructional decisions • Receptive to receiving coaching regularly from administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology • Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with an online learning platform
