Studio Designer is a software platform that provides an integrated business management solution purpose-built for the interior design industry. It offers design tools (design boards, proposals & sourcing), project management (item-based tracking across unlimited projects), client-facing features (client portal, online payments/StudioPay), and finance/accounting capabilities (time tracking & billing, integrated accounting, reporting, payroll via Gusto). The product targets firm principals, designers, and accountants/bookkeepers to manage projects from concept through installation and to improve operational efficiency and profitability for interior design firms. The company also provides onboarding, implementation, training, and financial consultant partner services, and produces industry content such as a blog and webinars.

📋 Description

• Lead, expand, and mature a small development team • Develop strategic direction for architecture, frontend-heavy development, and team culture with the CTO • Cultivate a culture of security, incident analysis, and learning • Identify, prioritize, and execute opportunities improving availability, performance, efficiency, resiliency, organizational change, and incident response • Lead frontend roadmap development and execution for intuitive, performant, accessible, and reliable customer experiences • Partner with Product to translate customer needs and requirements into scalable frontend solutions • Collaborate with Development leaders and Product Managers on execution and prioritization across frontend initiatives • Reduce frontend technical debt and improve architecture scalability, maintainability, and consistency • Coach and mentor developers and peers on reliability best practices • Report to and work directly with the Chief Technology Officer

🎯 Requirements

• Technical knowledge and depth to develop and mentor others and build credibility with the team • Experience interacting with customers, senior executives, and business leads • Experience establishing and measuring OKRs or team goals • Critical thinking and ability to engage in constructive conflict • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to lead multiple and competing priorities, make decisions, and communicate them • Ability to consider business tradeoffs for technical development problems • 10+ years’ experience in software development or hands-on site reliability engineering of fault-tolerant distributed systems • Experience operating SaaS software systems in a production environment • Experience with AWS or other major cloud providers • Experience developing development platforms and services, including microservices and APIs • Experience architecting, designing, and building frontend components and applications connecting to services • Strong experience with JSON, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, WinForms, and Web Services/Web API • UI testing frameworks such as Playwright, or testing tools such as NUnit or MS Test • Experience or desire to work with AI-driven environments and tooling • Extensive hands-on development experience using Angular, TypeScript, or similar tools • Industry experience in interior design is a plus • Strong Object-Oriented foundation and formal process/methodology experience is ideally desired • Large-scale cloud-based development with SOA or microservices is ideally desired • .NET (Core, 5+ preferred) is ideally desired • Mobile or mobile web development experience is ideally desired • Ability to work in Central or Mountain time zone is ideally desired
