• Lead the development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing and clinical education programs • Identify learning needs using collaboration, performance data, survey findings, evidence-based practice, and regulatory changes • Design and facilitate staff in-services, clinical competency development, onboarding, continuing education, patient education, and specialty program education • Serve as a clinical education resource, role model, coach, and facilitator for nursing staff • Create and maintain education calendars, training materials, competency tools, onboarding resources, survey readiness materials, and clinical practice guideline resources • Evaluate education effectiveness through feedback, participation data, competency validation, clinical outcomes, quality indicators, and stakeholder input • Provide patient and significant-other education through surgery preparedness classes and throughout the hospital experience • Coordinate Total Joint and Spine program activities supporting clinical, regulatory, and accreditation requirements • Maintain pre- and post-discharge patient contact to identify needs, remove barriers, reinforce education, and support recovery outcomes • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, care management, therapy, anesthesia, perioperative services, clinics, post-acute providers, quality, and leadership • Monitor, analyze, and report quality metrics, patient outcomes, readmissions, complications, service excellence, length of stay, and performance measures • Conduct chart reviews, audits, data tracking, trend analysis, surveys, and reporting; prepare report cards and program materials • Research best practices and lead or recommend continuous quality improvement initiatives • Coordinate with the EPIC team on electronic health record reporting, workflow changes, clinical applications, documentation, and data collection • Develop materials and contribute to Total Joint and Spine Committee meetings • Participate in survey preparation, follow-up actions, and TJC Disease Specific Certification activities • Maintain clinical competence and integrate ethical principles, safety, effectiveness, cost, and quality into education and care coordination • Perform other duties as assigned
• Current Texas RN licensure • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required • Minimum of five years of clinical experience as an RN in an acute care or related clinical setting • Experience developing, delivering, or supporting clinical education, staff development, onboarding, competency validation, or professional development activities • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems such as EPIC • BLS and ACLS certification required when applicable to assigned education responsibilities • Expertise in adult learning principles, instructional design, clinical education program development, competency validation, and evaluation of education outcomes • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, including PowerPoint presentations, staff education, patient education, in-services, and professional development activities • Ability to assess learning needs and translate evidence-based practice and regulatory requirements into practical education • Knowledge of current nursing practice, acute-care clinical pathways, orthopedic and spine patient care, and healthcare trends • Knowledge of CMS, PRO-PM, Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification standards, performance measures, and regulatory or accreditation requirements • Ability to aggregate, analyze, interpret, and present data using spreadsheets, database software, electronic medical records, and reporting tools • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, collaboration, coaching, facilitation, and problem-solving skills • Ability to function professionally, advocate for patients and families, promote staff accountability, work autonomously, exercise initiative, and adapt to changing requirements • ACLS/BCLS instructor certification, quality improvement experience, and orthopedic/spine clinical experience preferred
