📋 Description

• Verify patient eligibility • Coordinate benefits • Ensure insurance coverage • Determine whether prior authorization is needed • Obtain authorization when needed • Document authorization information in the patient electronic medical record • Facilitate responses to patient inquiries regarding authorizations within turnaround standards

🎯 Requirements

• HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience • 1 year within a health care setting • Knowledge of medical terminology • Knowledge of anatomy • Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 coding • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word or similar programs • Ability to exercise discretion and make independent judgments • Ability to maintain composure during challenging interpersonal interactions • Active listening skills, interpersonal skills, and telephone communication skills • Organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up
