• Review contract language and budgets for completeness and accuracy, ensuring corrections are made and documented • Maintain internal project trackers with accurate and timely information • Use sponsor legal fallback language to negotiate site contracting language • Negotiate study budgets within approval parameters and follow escalation processes • Attend weekly internal and external progress meetings and provide updates and next steps • Collaborate with stakeholders to align contract execution dates and site activation timelines • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Identify contractual or operational risks and proactively drive solutions • Prepare contract and budget escalations • Draft and finalize study start-up documents, templates, and start-up plans • Prepare and lead study team kick-off meetings • Schedule contract and budget preparation and overview meetings • Prepare final contracts after negotiations and approvals • Participate in pilot and stretch projects aligned with role and sponsor initiatives
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent experience • Demonstrated experience independently managing Clinical Trial Agreements (CTAs), CTA amendments, site budget negotiations, and contract lifecycle management with minimal oversight • Strong understanding of CTA drafting and negotiation • Knowledge of contract templates and fallback language • Knowledge of budget development and negotiation strategies • Knowledge of clinical trial start-up processes • Experience maintaining negotiation status and documentation within Sponsor or internal clinical trial tracking systems • Excellent understanding of Phase II-IV clinical trials, ICH-GCP, and clinical development processes • Strong project management, organization, and prioritization skills • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite • SCS-II/Contract Manager 2: minimum of one year of direct site contract and budget negotiations within a CRO, site, or pharma company required • Senior SCS/Contract Manager 3: minimum of two years of direct site contract and budget negotiation required, including at least one year of progressive experience leading site contract negotiations as a client-facing point of contact within an industry-sponsored clinical trial setting • Previous Sponsor-Dedicated/FSP model experience preferred • Leadership or mentoring experience preferred for senior level • CRO experience preferred • Experience supporting process improvement initiatives within Site Start-Up or Site Contracts preferred
