📋 Description

• Own the architecture, design, delivery, and evolution of the TaxAct mobile application across iOS and Android • Lead mobile capabilities including authentication, biometrics, secure storage, notifications, deep linking, device integrations, performance, and app store operations • Define the balance between native mobile and web-based experiences • Drive platform quality, reliability, security, and maintainability • Evaluate emerging technologies and modernize the mobile platform • Act as the technical lead for mobile initiatives across engineering, product, design, security, and platform teams • Identify opportunities, define solutions, and drive execution independently • Build prototypes, evaluate technologies, and solve complex technical problems • Advise stakeholders on mobile architecture, platform capabilities, user experience, release strategy, and operational excellence • Improve mobile engineering practices, tooling, standards, and documentation • Use AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows for design, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and research • Evaluate AI-powered engineering tools and help establish adoption standards • Review and validate AI-generated work for production-quality outcomes

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience building, shipping, and operating production mobile applications • Proven ownership of complex mobile applications or platform capabilities across iOS and Android • Experience driving initiatives from concept through production with minimal direction • Experience supporting the full mobile lifecycle, including releases, observability, crash analysis, performance optimization, and platform upgrades • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering effectiveness • Experience modernizing applications while maintaining production stability • Significant production experience with Flutter and Dart • Strong understanding of iOS and Android platform capabilities, including authentication, biometrics, secure storage, notifications, deep linking, permissions, and device APIs • Experience integrating mobile applications with web applications, WebViews, APIs, backend services, identity providers, and third-party platforms • Strong hands-on coding ability and mobile architecture expertise • Experience reviewing and validating AI-generated code and technical solutions • Ability to balance customer experience, velocity, risk, and maintainability • Ownership mindset with a focus on outcomes • Ability to operate independently and navigate ambiguity • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills • Pragmatic, customer-focused technical judgment • Leadership through expertise, influence, accountability, and delivery
