📋 Description

• Answer inbound customer service calls related to patient accounting questions • Make outbound follow-up calls on outstanding accounts receivable accounts when inbound call volumes are low • Answer calls promptly and professionally to avoid drops or abandons • Determine callers’ reasons for contact and assist with questions, concerns, or problems • Focus on first-call resolution and facilitate resolution through issue or content experts • Escalate matters to supervisors, request appropriate information, or take action to support resolution • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school education or equivalent • 1–2 years prior experience in an inbound call center and/or customer service environment • Hospital patient account billing experience or knowledge of third-party reimbursements from insurance companies and government payers is a plus • Exceptional customer service, problem-solving, and analytical skills • Professional, calming tone and complete command of the English language • Ability to facilitate conversations and understand customer issues • Ability to work independently, flexibly, and creatively • Ability to de-escalate calls and maintain caller confidence • Ability to function effectively under stress and with difficult personalities • Ability to interpret and apply reimbursement aspects of managed healthcare contracts • Attentive listening skills • Ability to clearly articulate responses using appropriate voice modulation • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods • Required vaccinations and screenings may include COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations, as applicable and permitted by law
