📋 Description

• Champion current and new technologies and provide training on those technologies in assigned markets • Develop, organize, and write local news for stations across Scripps local media markets • Work directly with local station news leadership and key employees to select up-to-date information for each daypart • Produce a dynamic product following Scripps content strategy • Assess workflows and implement changes that improve effectiveness and efficiency • Execute time-sensitive decisions independently with clear messaging • Act as an ambassador for Scripps Content Strategy • Oversee news and up-to-the-minute editorial decisions • Create content in new and unique ways • Monitor and support content development and playout • Monitor and oversee 24/7 content streams across multiple dayparts

🎯 Requirements

• BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience • Generally 6+ years of experience as a television news producer preferred • Knowledge of current local news and ability to get up to speed on local news in Scripps markets • Excellent time and priority management skills; highly organized and deadline-driven • Ability to build relationships quickly, communicate clearly, and influence without authority • Experience with editing software in a newsroom environment • Strong critical thinking and ability to adapt on the fly in challenging situations • Ability to make decisions independently • Creativity and curiosity to learn new styles of producing news • Big-picture thinking • Ability and desire to learn and test new technology • Remote work approved only for specific geographic locations listed in the posting
