The Base is a Grade-A office and co-working building in the centre of Warrington that provides modern, flexible office space, co-working areas, and meeting/event facilities for start-ups, SMEs and larger businesses—particularly in digital technology, advanced engineering and manufacturing. It operates as a business hub offering space for 2–20+ people, community networking, and an on-site business support programme (marketing, tax, legal, R&D and innovation advice) to help tenant businesses grow and collaborate.

📋 Description

• Support day-to-day financial accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset accounting • Review, code, and post incoming and outgoing invoices at the individual-document level • Perform intercompany reconciliations and settlements between entities • Administer payment transactions • Actively support the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB), including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement • Maintain and implement monthly reporting, including commentary on BWA management reports • Analyze budget-to-actual variances and derive appropriate business measures • Prepare budgets, forecasts, reports, and liquidity overviews for internal and external stakeholders • Coordinate with tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities • Collaborate across multiple entities, processing approximately 150,000 transactions per year

🎯 Requirements

• Substantial professional experience in accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting—ideally in a multi-entity environment or a role with broad ownership and responsibility • Experience with meticulous invoice review and coding • Strong understanding of financial statements prepared in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) • Experience supporting the preparation of annual financial statements is preferred • Controlling expertise, with the ability to derive KPIs, forecasts, and business measures from financial data • Proficiency in DATEV is required • Advanced Excel skills • Fast learner with a high degree of independence and strong attention to detail • Fluent German and English, both written and spoken, with strong negotiation skills • Initial experience with BI tools and building reporting structures from the ground up is a plus • Background in hospitality, real estate, or a multi-entity setup is a plus • Interest in automation and process optimization, including API integrations and automated posting, is a plus
