📋 Description

• Interpret physicians’ and prescribers’ prescriptions • Consult with patients about medication use and potential drug interactions • Contact physicians for new or transfer authorization • Collaborate with physicians to convert prescriptions to generic or preferred drugs when possible • Contact doctors and patients to verify prescription information and expedite order processing • Track order status and outstanding issues • Handle customer calls regarding lost orders or dispensing errors • Maintain daily production, quality, and service levels • Provide oversight and quality assurance to pharmacy technicians • Verify controlled-substance validity • Verify prescription information entered through data or order entry • Back up other pharmacists and perform additional duties assigned by management • Train less experienced pharmacists • Complete an eight-week training period; training schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5pm ET • Work assigned schedules after training, including weekday shifts and a Saturday rotation every other week with a weekday off

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred • Current active resident pharmacist license in good standing • Candidates must reside and be licensed in Arizona, Indiana, Florida, Ohio, or Tennessee • Advanced problem-solving skills • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues • Good oral and written communication skills • Ability to read and interpret prescriptions • Strong focus on customer service, quality, and accuracy • Ability to manage timelines and meet tight client deadlines • Ability to adapt in a changing environment • Ability to work a flexible schedule for peak volume times • Home internet through a cable broadband or fiber optic provider with at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload
