📋 Description

• Design and implement strategies to embed community across the ALX talent journey, including selection, recruitment, learning, transition, and alumni engagement • Collaborate with Marketing, Recruitment, Learning, and Alumni teams to integrate community-driven approaches into workflows • Develop frameworks, toolkits, and playbooks to support regional community initiatives • Ensure the community is member-led and city-driven, with central support for strategy, frameworks, and resource allocation • Implement one unified ALX community for learners and alumni • Own and manage eHub, the ALX virtual community platform • Set up and maintain eHub groups, channels, and resources • Drive daily eHub engagement, welcome members, start discussions, surface content, and moderate conversations • Track and report eHub engagement metrics, including active users, posts, response times, and sentiment • Manage eHub interest groups and support interest group leaders with spaces and programming • Plan, write, and send monthly community newsletters • Own the community communications calendar across email, eHub, and other member channels • Write and distribute announcements for events, initiatives, campaigns, and organizational updates • Track newsletter and communications performance and optimize content and cadence • Maintain a consistent community voice and brand across written and digital touchpoints • Define and track KPIs for community integration, eHub, and communications performance • Report on community engagement, member satisfaction, and program impact • Build relationships with city leads, members, and cross-functional teams • Act as the central contact for community initiatives and ensure smooth information flow • Curate and share member-generated content and success stories • Enable cities to drive local engagement, share learnings, and build communities of practice

🎯 Requirements

• 3-4 years of experience in community management, social/digital media, internal comms, or program management, ideally in education, tech, or a membership-based organization • Hands-on experience running an online community platform (e.g. Discourse, Circle, Slack, Discord, or similar) at scale • Proven ability to plan and write newsletters and other member communications with a consistent, on-brand voice • Comfortable working with email/newsletter tools (e.g. Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar) and basic engagement analytics • Experience planning and running community events, whether virtual, in-person, or hybrid • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and message across channels and audiences • Comfortable working with data: tracking engagement metrics, spotting trends, and turning insights into action • Ability to work with city leads, members, and cross-functional teams across multiple locations, including virtually • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment with a hands-on approach • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working in a digital-first environment • Strong communication skills and ability to stay connected, work proactively, and take initiative • Nice to have: experience moderating or building online communities from the ground up • Nice to have: familiarity with community-led growth, ambassador, or referral programs • Nice to have: experience with graphic or content tools (e.g. Canva) • Nice to have: knowledge of behavioural psychology or engagement strategies
