• Guide pedagogical decisions across the platform at design and evaluation stages • Adapt and interpret the ALX learning framework for the platform • Design experiments testing the platform’s core pedagogical assumptions • Run experiments with the experimentation function • Assist engineers in designing and evaluating AI products • Translate learning science into concrete product decisions • Collaborate with Anthropic Engineers, AI engineers, product managers, and data scientists to design learning experiences
• Solid grounding in learning science, including modern frameworks and their application • Understanding of the capabilities and limitations of LLM-based tools • Ability to co-design AI tools with engineers • Experiment design skills, including hypotheses and measures • Methodological rigour to test learning claims honestly • Ability to challenge team assumptions, including technical leadership’s • Ability to translate across disciplines and work embedded in an engineering team • Ability to articulate a changed pedagogical belief and the evidence behind the change • Self-drive to communicate constantly using web collaboration and video conferencing • Drive and work ethic to succeed in small physical teams and larger virtual efforts • Preferred timezone: GMT+2 • Desirable but not required: prior EdTech product work • Desirable but not required: familiarity with competency frameworks or knowledge tracing • Desirable but not required: experience with African education contexts
