📋 Description

• Develop and execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) fundraising • Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 high-net-worth individuals in the Western or Eastern United States • Secure five- to six-figure gifts and create individualized annual donor engagement strategies • Qualify, cultivate, and close major gifts for a forthcoming capital campaign • Expand the donor base and secure meaningful multi-year commitments • Prepare proposals and grant applications for major donors and foundations • Partner with Finance to develop proposal budgets and grant reports • Identify, cultivate, and secure new philanthropic relationships • Build relationships within key donor communities, including Effective Altruism networks • Develop donor recommendations involving legacy giving, foundation partnerships, and Donor Advised Funds • Build and sustain trust-based donor relationships throughout the donor lifecycle • Deliver tailored proposals, impact reports, and donor communications with Programs staff and senior leadership • Maintain accurate donor database records • Plan and execute donor cultivation and fundraising events, including in-person, conference, virtual, small-scale, and peer-to-peer events • Partner with the Donor Care team to engage donor volunteers • Partner with the CEO and senior leadership on high-level donor engagement strategies • Prepare briefings, messaging, and solicitation plans for six- to seven-figure gifts • Coach Programs staff and organizational leaders on donor communication and representation • Represent THL’s mission, strategy, and impact to donors and external audiences • Collaborate with Development colleagues to identify, qualify, and upgrade major-giving prospects • Mentor and support the Philanthropy team and contribute to process improvements • Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment • Travel domestically and internationally at least four times per year and occasionally work nights and weekends • Report to the Sr. Director of Global Philanthropy

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of demonstrated fundraising, philanthropy, or donor relations experience for an organization of 5M or more • At least 1–2 years in major gifts fundraising • Strong track record of cultivating, soliciting, and securing five- to seven-figure gifts • Experience managing high-value donor portfolios • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-management skills • Ability to develop and execute tailored fundraising strategies • Experience writing proposals, grant applications, and grant reports • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills • Ability to translate complex programs and priorities into clear, compelling donor-facing materials • Ability to collaborate across functions and levels, mentor team members, and partner with and coach senior leadership • Experience identifying, qualifying, and advancing prospects through the donor pipeline • Ability to navigate complex challenges, identify innovative solutions, and adapt strategies • Data-informed judgment and discretion handling sensitive donor and organizational information • Strong time management and organizational skills • Ability to develop and interpret budgets and financial information • Compliance with cash-handling best practices and confidentiality requirements • Ability to operate effectively within a global organization with cultural awareness • Authorization to work in the United States and perform the role from within the United States or a U.S. Territory • Applications and supporting documents must be submitted in English
