• Sell Thermo Fisher’s Downstream Workflow products to biotech and biopharma accounts for process development and manufacturing • Meet or exceed assigned sales goals for downstream workflow products, including POROS, CaptureSelect, and GIBCO products • Maintain growth and actively search for new business opportunities within the territory • Travel to customer sites for sales calls and presentations • Work closely with applications counterparts to move sales from evaluation to close • Introduce and seed downstream workflow products in new processes within accounts • Identify new opportunities with existing accounts • Collaborate with customers and product management to forecast and communicate large order and shipment details • Maintain and improve sales skills through technical and sales training • Proactively update Salesforce and business plans • Attend tradeshows and conferences and read trade journals to learn about company products • Collaborate with sales colleagues representing other BioProduction products to grow Thermo’s overall Bioproduction business • Cover a territory including Southern California, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada • Build customer relationships to support accurate forecasting and production planning
• Bachelor's or advanced degree (B.S, M.A, PhD. or equivalent experience) in Chemistry or related field • 5 plus years sales experience in biopharmaceutical market required • Experience within Bioproduction or chromatography workflows is preferred • Technical expertise across the downstream bioprocessing workflow, including chromatography resins, process liquids and production solutions, and production chemicals and services • Established sales history and relationships with downstream process development organizations • Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships • Comprehensive understanding of customer accounts, manufacturing processes, and stakeholder priorities • Ability to assess and interpret customer process and operational needs • Ability to deliver tailored technical and commercial solutions across the downstream workflow • Strong analytical capabilities evaluating territory sales performance, market dynamics, growth opportunities, technical data, manufacturing workflows, and application-specific information • Ability to work effectively independently and within cross-functional and matrixed team environments • Established track record of sales success and strategic relationship management within downstream bioprocessing, process development, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing organizations • Ability to position integrated downstream solutions spanning chromatography, buffers and process liquids, production chemicals, and manufacturing support services • Positive technical, analytical, and relationship-building skills • Residency within Southern California required; no relocation assistance provided
