📋 Description

• Own and scale real-time event ingestion and streaming through Kafka • Operate analytical and feature data systems in ClickHouse • Design, debug, and scale data transformation and ML workflows, including partitioning, retention, schema evolution, and backfills • Build and scale React frontends, Node/Express/Nest-style services, and MongoDB-backed APIs • Develop integrations, onboarding, billing, and customer-facing analytics • Own CI/CD with GitHub Actions, Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP infrastructure, secrets management, deployment reliability, and environment automation • Use AI-assisted workflows for scaffolding, tests, migrations, code review, observability queries, runbooks, Terraform modules, and data debugging • Own SOC 2 readiness, audit-friendly CI/CD, secrets rotation, IAM hygiene, observability, and incident response • Map the platform, repositories, environments, pipelines, cloud resources, and deployment paths during the first 90 days • Establish AI-assisted engineering workflows for the team • Improve production and pipeline observability • Replace vendor-dependent infrastructure with internally owned Terraform/Kubernetes automation • Report to the CTO / Co-Founder • Participate in a tailored interview process including technical, AI-assisted practical, domain, infrastructure/incident, and founder sessions

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including production ownership • Hands-on production ownership of data/streaming pipelines using Kafka and ClickHouse or directly comparable technologies • Operational experience with throughput, retention, schema evolution, backfills, and pipeline reliability • Strong full-stack experience with TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express and/or NestJS, and MongoDB • Experience with AWS and/or GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions CI/CD, secrets management, and deployment automation • Proven experience operating production systems with logs, metrics, traces, alerts, and incident response under pressure • Demonstrably AI-native experience using AI coding tools and a workflow that can be explained • Strong architectural judgment and ability to design systems, simplify them, and explain tradeoffs • Comfort working in a lean startup with high ownership, incomplete documentation, and shifting priorities • Ability to work as a US-based engineer • Willingness to take broad ownership with startup equity upside
