📋 Description

• Own the full monthly close, financial statements, and general ledger • Prepare management reporting and supporting schedules for P&L and balance-sheet lines • Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets and depreciation, ARO accretion, and lease accounting • Oversee AP/AR, cash, and account reconciliations • Prepare covenant compliance reporting for the senior credit facility • Support the annual audit and coordinate with external accountants and lenders • Convert manual, spreadsheet-based processes into reliable automated routines • Own and extend the AI-driven finance stack for close automation, reconciliations, variance monitoring, and reporting • Build controls and documentation for an auditable and durable automated function • Coach the finance team on AI-first workflows • Translate AI and automation concepts for non-technical teammates • Create documentation, playbooks, and training for automated processes • Champion continuous improvement and process automation • Own the forecast and budget-to-actual variance analysis • Deliver timely financial information for leadership decisions • Serve as finance system owner for Sage Intacct, Datarails, Apparatix, and the connecting automation layer

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including running or effectively owning a month-end close • Strong technical accounting knowledge (US GAAP; ASC 606 a plus) • Experience replacing manual work with tools, scripts, or AI • Comfort with AI tools such as Claude, Python, SQL, or building workflows is a major plus • Ability to teach and mentor a team • Ability to explain AI and automation to non-technical colleagues • Ability to turn automation into processes others can run • Self-directed and execution-focused • Ability to own deliverables independently in a remote role • Clear communication skills to explain numbers to non-accountants • Experience with debt covenant/lender reporting is a bonus • Media, advertising, real estate, or asset-intensive industry background is a bonus • Sage Intacct, Datarails, or Apparatix experience is a bonus • CPA is not required
