📋 Description

• Handle first-party property claims of moderate severity and complexity • Investigate, evaluate, estimate, negotiate, and resolve personal or business property claims • Complete field inspections, document damages with photographs, and prepare written or computer-assisted estimates • Analyze policies, leases, contracts, by-laws, business interruption calculations, and other relevant documents • Secure recorded or written statements as appropriate • Establish accurate claim and expense reserves • Determine settlement amounts using estimates, valuations, contractor validation, appraisals, limits, deductibles, and independent adjuster work • Negotiate settlements with contractors, insureds, and representatives within authority limits • Write denial letters, Reservation of Rights letters, and other complex correspondence • Maintain claim diaries, required data, documentation, and file inventories for timely resolution • Handle files in compliance with applicable state regulations and quality standards • Provide customer service to insureds, agents, and internal and external business partners • Refer claims to Special Investigations, Subrogation, or Major Case Units when appropriate • Provide multi-line claim assistance for Auto, Workers Compensation, General Liability, and other business areas • Mentor and coach less experienced claim professionals when needed • Attend depositions, mediations, arbitrations, pre-trials, trials, and other legal proceedings as needed • Participate in the Catastrophe Response Program, including deployments of at least 16 days to other states • Perform resolution desk technical and follow-up call work on a rotational basis • Access and inspect all areas of dwellings or structures, including climbing ladders, walking on roofs, and entering tight spaces • Perform administrative functions and other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED • One year of previous outside property claim handling experience or successful completion of Travelers Outside Claim Representative training program • Valid driver's license • Bachelor's Degree listed as an ideal candidate qualification • Two or more years of previous outside property claim handling experience listed as an ideal candidate qualification • General knowledge of Xactimate estimating system • Advanced interpersonal and customer service skills • Advanced organizational and time management skills • Intermediate ability to work independently • Intermediate judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills • Intermediate negotiation skills • Intermediate written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Intermediate investigative skills • Intermediate ability to analyze and determine coverage • Intermediate ability to analyze and evaluate damages • Intermediate ability to resolve claims within settlement authority • Valid passport • Ability to obtain and maintain required insurance license(s) and/or UAS Remote Pilot Certification as applicable • Ability to carry, set up, and climb a 38-to-49-pound ladder, walk on roofs, and enter tight spaces • Ability to participate in catastrophe deployments away from home for a minimum of 16 days
