• Lead evaluation and execution of M&A, in-licensing, strategic collaborations, partnerships, investments and other portfolio-enhancing transactions • Manage the full deal lifecycle, including assessment, business case development, valuation, due diligence, deal structuring, term sheets, negotiation and closing • Develop transaction strategies and deal structures balancing opportunity, risk, capital requirements and value creation • Partner with Legal and functional leaders to negotiate term sheets and definitive agreements • Lead cross-functional due diligence teams and synthesize findings and risks for senior management • Prepare and present transaction recommendations and analyses to senior leadership and, as appropriate, the Board of Directors • Lead or support out-licensing, regional partnering, divestiture and other externalization initiatives • Support corporate strategy, growth opportunity identification, value-driver analysis and strategic decision-making • Maintain relationships with potential collaborators, investment banks and strategic consulting partners • Represent Travere at industry and partnering events and conferences • Mentor Corporate Development team members and develop corporate development capabilities and processes
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, business or related discipline required • 12–15+ years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries, focused on corporate/business development, search and evaluation, investment banking, management consulting, venture capital or a related field • Demonstrated experience leading and closing complex biopharma transactions from initial evaluation through diligence, negotiation and execution • Strong understanding of drug development, commercialization, regulatory considerations, intellectual property and pharmaceutical development economics • Strong financial and analytical capabilities, including valuation methodologies, financial modeling, commercial forecasts, rNPV/DCF analysis and transaction economics • Demonstrated ability leading cross-functional teams • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally • Advanced degree such as an MBA, PhD, MD or other relevant graduate degree strongly preferred
