📋 Description

• Build and deliver Voice and Video functionalities through Android SDKs • Own Android SDK architecture, implementation, technical direction, technical backlog, and architectural roadmap • Lead development and maintenance of Android Voice and Video SDKs, including WebRTC, ReSiprocate, and C++ layers • Drive build pipeline stability and participate in CI/CD migration efforts • Define Android best practices and provide Android-specific guidance across the organization • Collaborate with iOS, JavaScript, and React Native SDK teams on cross-platform convergence • Conduct code reviews and maintain quality, correctness, and test coverage • Partner with product and platform leads to evaluate feasibility, estimate effort, and deliver roadmap commitments • Contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation • Adapt to the evolving Android ecosystem to maximize engineering efficiency • Enhance automated tests and code coverage • Own customers’ developer experience • Monitor and triage customer and Git repository issues • Enhance Twilio Voice and Video Android reference apps • Travel occasionally for project or team in-person meetings

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on Android development • Deep expertise in the Android ecosystem and SDK development • Experience with real-time communication technologies such as WebRTC, SIP, and RTP strongly preferred • Proficiency in Java/Kotlin and C++ • Familiarity with CI/CD systems including CircleCI, Buildkite, and GitHub Actions, plus mobile build pipelines • Strong communication skills to articulate technical decisions and trade-offs to engineering and non-engineering audiences • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority • Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative team culture • Familiarity with Claude and GitHub Copilot • Experience with ReSiprocate or other SIP stacks desired • Prior work on public-facing developer SDKs desired • Familiarity with supply chain security practices for mobile SDKs desired • Experience with Argo CD desired • Role is not eligible to be hired in California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or Washington
