• Install, configure, maintain, and support HPC hardware, software, and related infrastructure • Provide Linux system administration and operational support for research computing environments • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to faculty, staff, students, and research collaborators • Collaborate with researchers on machine learning, artificial intelligence, data analysis, data management, and visualization projects • Assist researchers with optimizing applications and workflows for parallel and GPU-based computing environments • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that support advanced computing and research needs • Develop and maintain an independent research program • Pursue external grant funding and contribute to collaborative research proposals • Assist with or lead funding applications supporting the growth and sustainability of the Center for High Performance Computing • Participate in departmental, institutional, and professional service activities consistent with a faculty appointment
• Terminal degree in Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable scientific or technical discipline • Experience with system administration in a Linux environment • Knowledge of Linux server configuration, including RHEL, CentOS, or an equivalent operating system • Knowledge of system scripting, security practices, and network protocols • Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and learn emerging technologies • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment • Experience working in an HPC environment (preferred) • Experience with cluster file systems, job scheduling, workflow management, and resource management tools (preferred) • Experience with tools such as Moab, Maui, or TORQUE (preferred) • Experience with Singularity, Docker, or other container technologies (preferred) • Knowledge of parallel computing techniques, including multithreading and Message Passing Interface (MPI) (preferred) • Experience with GPU computing and optimizing software for high-performance computing environments (preferred) • Experience supporting machine learning, artificial intelligence, data-intensive research, or scientific visualization (preferred) • Demonstrated experience developing or contributing to grant-funded research (preferred)
