📋 Description

• Develop PSSE, PSLF, TSAT and PSCAD models of renewable plants • Perform model quality tests and model benchmarking for various software models • Understand dynamic model block diagrams and tune parameters to meet regional model performance requirements • Support interconnection applications, including preliminary plant design, simple preliminary drawings, and application forms with design information • Conduct preliminary system studies, including reactive power studies • Collaborate with developer clients to understand needs, deadlines, design changes, and system operator/transmission owner feedback • Monitor regional interconnection requirements, processes, deadlines, and queue schedules • Respond to customer design changes, questions, and deadlines • Stay current with regulatory changes, grid codes, ISO/RTO requirements, industry guidance, and NERC compliance standards • Conduct voltage and frequency ride-through studies • Support model validation for renewable projects • Help develop tools to automate and streamline model quality tests and analyses

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required, ABET accredited program, or equivalent required • Minimum of 2 years of working experience, with at least 1 year of experience directly related to power systems • Experience with steady-state analysis and/or dynamic analysis utilizing PSS®E and PSCAD • Prior experience working with/for transmission system operators/transmission owners is preferred • Experience with PSCAD, PSLF and TSAT modeling is preferred • Experience with programming in Python preferred • Must be authorized to work permanently in the U.S. • Ability to independently complete assigned tasks • Ability to manage individual workload and adapt to changing requirements • Self-starter willing to identify and implement improvements • Analytical, self-motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships • Openness to innovation and applying evolving technology and AI tools • Relevant military experience considered
