📋 Description

• Support Ulteig’s growth in subconsultant partnerships • Serve as Project Technical Lead on subconsultant-based projects • Lead development of scoping documents, estimates, schedules, substation drawings, specifications, and reports • Ensure project deliverables are complete, accurate, and aligned with sound engineering practices and client standards • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures on moderately complex projects • Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work • Make design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications for utility substations • Perform engineering calculations • Resolve design problems through field investigation or observation, detailed design work, and quality control review • Coordinate project design aspects and communicate work with team members • Provide technical guidance to engineers and subconsultant partners • Lead complex substation projects from estimating and proposals through detailed design, commissioning, and construction support • Oversee, lead, and quality-review subconsultant engineering design and project scheduling • Support on-site commissioning and construction for energization as needed

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required • Degree from an ABET accredited program or equivalent required • PE License strongly preferred; ability to obtain within 1 year required • 6+ years of experience in the Power Engineering field • Effective leadership and mentoring skills • Experience overseeing, leading, and quality-reviewing subconsultant engineering design and project scheduling • Excellent verbal and written communications, time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills • Ability to lead complex substation projects with a multidiscipline team from estimating and proposals through detailed design, commissioning, and construction support • Prior experience with physical, protection & control, and/or civil/structural design of electrical power substations required • Ability to review and produce substation design drawings, including General Arrangements, Elevations, Cable and Conduit Plans, Grounding Plans, Physical Connection Details, AC/DC schematics, and wiring diagrams • Ability to perform AC & DC substation studies is a plus • Experience using ground grid modeling software is a plus • Knowledge of substation protection and control schemes is a plus • Knowledge of basic relay settings, NEC, NESC, and RUS design guide is a plus • High initiative and ability to manage multiple projects with clear expectations while being highly responsive • Proven experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards • Openness to innovation and ability to apply evolving technology and AI tools • Permanent authorization to work in the US • Willingness to travel 10–15%
