• Engage with clients in the renewable energy industry • Maintain positive client relationships and provide frequent internal and external interaction • Perform remote commissioning of PLC- and SCADA-based control systems for solar and BESS plants • Troubleshoot PLC systems including Allen Bradley, Schneider, and SEL platforms • Troubleshoot HMI/SCADA systems including Ignition, Wonderware, and Kepware/Topserver • Troubleshoot and test communications between PLCs, inverters, relays, meters, and HMI/SCADA systems • Conduct I/O validation, logic testing, and control sequence verification during site startup • Collaborate with field teams to resolve real-time system issues via VPN or remote desktop • Review and modify ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams • Support integration with plant SCADA platforms such as Ignition, Wonderware, GE iFIX, and Cimplicity • Document commissioning results, punch list items, and corrective actions • Participate in after-hours commissioning sessions, including nights and weekends • Provide remote technical support to operations teams post-commissioning • Understand and update technical documentation, including control logic, test procedures, and user manuals • Complete tasks within allotted time and take ownership of personal and product quality
• Two year technical degree • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, preferably within energy, utilities, or process control • Renewable energy industry exposure – Wind, PV, BESS • Function Block and/or structured text programming experience preferred • Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, etc.) and internet network architectures • Proven experience commissioning PLC and SCADA systems, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, and SEL • Strong understanding of Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, and other industrial communication protocols • Familiarity with solar plant or BESS architectures, including inverters, relays, and control panels • Proficiency with network configuration, managed switches, IP addressing, and VPNs • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under time-sensitive commissioning conditions • Background in renewable energy or power systems • Understanding of site commissioning processes, safety procedures, and QA/QC documentation • Strong communication, documentation, troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills • Willing to travel 50% of the time • Ability to participate in 24/7 rotation • Mandatory weekend and evening hours • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards • Must have permanent authorization to work in US • Proven experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SQL, and Access • Able to read communication diagrams, logic diagrams, and network schematics • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, and clients
